What You'll Learn:
This photo tour begins with a lesson on camera settings for low light when a tripod and flash are not an option. We discuss optimal aperture, shutter speed and ISO settings for low light. If you are not already shooting in manual mode, I'll help you make the transition easy.
We'll address how to color balance your images for indoor lighting. We also review how to color balance in complex lighting situations with multiple light sources.
We cover exposing for the highlights in order to capture dramatic light. Center point focusing, metering and understanding lighting quality and direction are discussed. You will be given tips on how to hand hold your camera in low light for extra stability and longer exposures.
At the end of the photo tour, you will be invited to join Portland Photo Tour Forum. This is a Facebook group open only to those who have participated in a Portland Photo Tour and are interested in learning, inspiring and having fun with photography. Tag me and I will give you feedback on your images!
